Communication Design is an ever-evolving field that spans multiple industries. Our BA (Hons) Communication Design programme equips students with creative, critical, and technical skills, preparing them to navigate and anticipate changes in this dynamic sector. With a cross-disciplinary approach, the programme focuses on Graphic Design, Illustration, and Photography, allowing students to develop a broad skill set while specializing in key areas.

The programme emphasizes three core aspects of communication design: conceptual thinking, applied design, and entrepreneurial innovation. As technology advances, social media grows, and communication globalizes, the role of design extends beyond traditional industrial and commercial formats. Today’s communication designers create collaborative, socially dynamic, and inclusive experiences that shape how information is shared and understood.

Students will engage in studio-based cooperative learning within a life-centred design framework across four evolving disciplines:

- Graphic Design (including inclusive illustration)
- Photography
- Moving Image/Animation
- Interaction Design (UX/UI)

This core foundation is further enhanced by courses in Art Direction and Storytelling, Design Branding, Advanced Practice and Evaluation, Critical and Contextual Studies, and Global Fashion Management. These courses integrate entrepreneurship, preparing students for careers in film, media, design, social enterprise, and beyond.

Ultimately, this programme fosters a new generation of designers—adaptable, interdisciplinary, and equipped for a world where traditional boundaries between creative disciplines no longer exist.
